Ever have someone tell you that they like the idea of home fire sprinklers, but they worry about water damage? Here’s how Suppression Battalion Chief Tom DeMint responds to skeptics:

“I tell them to imagine (not do) this experiment: Take a $100 bill and light it on fire. Drop it into a fireproof bowl and watch. That is fire damage. Now imagine another $100 bill and light it on fire. Drop the burning bill into a bowl of water. That is water damage. Which one is legal tender?”

Suppression Battalion Chief DeMint is with the Poudre Fire Authority in Ft. Collins, CO.
