HFSC, Others Support Habitat Sprinklered Homes Projects

HFSC has been an active supporter of dozens of Habitat for Humanity projects around the country since 2001. As needed, HFSC has helped find resources to donate the material, labor and technical support necessary for the installations.

In Harvey, IL, last year, the Northern Illinois Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board (NIFSAB) helped the local Habitat chapter build its 8th home – the first with an installed fire sprinkler system.

In 2004, the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) announced a plan for local SFPE chapters to provide design and installation resources to Habitat projects in SFPE chapter communities. In Texas, the SFPE Austin-San Antonio Chapter has teamed up with the Austin Fire Department, Western States Fire Protection, and the Texas Fire Sprinkler Contractors Association to install sprinklers in Habitat homes.
