Recently, HFSC proudly welcomed State Farm Insurance as a member of its Steering Committee (read the story). State Farm is the leading insurer of homes in the United States, providing
coverage to 28 million households. The company, which also provides coverage in Canada, is the first from the insurance industry to join HFSC in this leadership capacity.

Financial incentives support the strategy of increasing the availability of sprinklered homes. For this reason, sustaining an active dialogue with the insurance industry has been a key goal of HFSC since its beginning. Recognizing the tremendous property protection afforded by automatic fire sprinkler protection, State Farm and many other insurance companies in North America provide additional premium discounts to their customers whose homes are sprinklered.

Discounts vary company to company. Additionally, the discounts often depend upon the extent to which the home is sprinklered (for example, some insurance companies provide a greater
discount for systems that exceed the installation requirements of NFPA 13D.)
