Ron
Hazelton is often recognized because
of his role as Home Improvement Editor for ABC's Good
Morning America where he offers advice about home improvements,
repairs and safety. As "The House Doctor" Ron
made over 600 televised house calls on a show he created,
co-produced and hosted, which continues to be televised on Home
and Garden Television (HGTV) several times a week in
the United States and Canada. Now, Ron is the host of a syndicated
program HouseCalls, where he tours the country in
a motorhome workshop visiting people in their own homes and
coaching them through do-it-yourself projects.
Ron has been featured as a home improvement expert
on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Discovery Channel’s Popular
Mechanics and Lifetime Television’s Our Home. Ron
has recently hosted several projects for the History Channel
including two shows for the Modern Marvels series; The
Body Shop and The Tool Bench, and Save Our History:
Frontier Homes.
Ron believes the risk of dying in a fire doesn’t
have to exist and that there are three things that can virtually
eliminate that risk: smoke alarms to alert, home fire sprinkler
systems to help put out the fire and a family escape plan.
As HFSC spokesperson, Ron narrates the Protect
What You Value Most video, has featured life-saving
benefits of home fire sprinklers during his segment on Good
Morning America, made appearances at Home Improvement Shows,
produced radio public service announcements and has been
interviewed by various TV and radio stations.
